We are Stardust Media. We create branding, websites, design, and custom art. This policy explains what personal data we collect, how we use it, and your choices.
We follow the GDPR and applicable EU/Netherlands privacy laws.

1) Who we are (Data Controller)

2) What we collect

We only collect what we need to communicate with you and deliver our services.

  • Newsletter sign-ups: name, email.

  • Shop purchases / bookings: name, email, purchase details, and necessary billing information (handled by our payment provider when enabled).

  • Project/client content: any files, text, and images you share with us to complete your project.

  • Website analytics: basic performance and traffic data via our website platform (see Cookies & Analytics).

We don’t intentionally collect special categories of data (e.g., health information). Please don’t include sensitive data in messages or uploads.

3) Why we use your data (Lawful bases)

  • To respond and provide services (contract or steps before a contract).

  • To process purchases and comply with tax law (contract; legal obligation).

  • To send our newsletter (consent; you can unsubscribe anytime).

  • To keep our site working and improve it (legitimate interests such as security, performance, and basic analytics).

We do not sell or rent your personal data.

4) Where your data lives (Processors)

We use trusted service providers who process data on our behalf and only as instructed by us:

  • Squarespace – website hosting and built-in analytics.

  • Google Workspace (Gmail, Drive/Sheets) – email and storing newsletter sign-ups.

  • Payment processor (e.g., Stripe/PayPal) – for payments when the shop is enabled.

  • Email platform (e.g., Mailchimp) – if/when we use a mailing service in the future.

Some providers may be outside the EEA. Where data is transferred internationally, we rely on appropriate safeguards (e.g., Standard Contractual Clauses).

5) Cookies & analytics

Our site uses essential cookies to function and may use performance/analytics cookies via Squarespace. You can manage cookies in your browser and (if enabled) via our cookie banner. See our Cookie Policy (or cookie section in site settings) for details.

6) Retention

We keep data only as long as necessary:

  • General inquiries/email: up to 24 months after last contact.

  • Newsletter data: until you unsubscribe (we also clean inactive contacts periodically).

  • Project files: for the project duration and up to 24 months after completion (unless agreed otherwise).

  • Orders/invoices: 7 years to meet Dutch tax requirements.

7) Minors

Our services (design, books, custom art, and sessions) are family-friendly. If you are under 16, please subscribe or purchase with a parent/guardian’s consent. For online sign-ups considered “information society services,” we follow the EU rule that consent for under-16s must be authorized by a holder of parental responsibility. Parents/guardians can contact us to review or delete a child’s data.

8) Your rights (EU/EEA)

You can request: access, correction, deletion, restriction, portability, and you can object to certain processing. When we rely on consent, you may withdraw it anytime (this doesn’t affect past processing).
You may also lodge a complaint with your local authority; in the Netherlands: Autoriteit Persoonsgegevens.

9) Security

We use reasonable technical and organizational measures (secure accounts, limited access, reputable processors, and proportionate retention). No system is 100% secure, but we work to protect your data.

10) Third-party links

Our site may link to other platforms (e.g., Instagram, Pinterest). Their privacy practices apply when you use them.

11) Changes

We’ll update this page if our practices change. Please check back occasionally.
